How we design a wedding invite, start to finish

10 April 2026 · 7 min read

A wedding invite is the first piece of design a guest sees from your wedding — it sets the tone for everything that follows. We treat it less like a card and more like a small printed gift.

Week 1 — Story. We start with a long call. What's the story? Where did you meet? What's the venue, the season, the colors? We're not collecting facts — we're collecting feeling.

Week 2 — Mood. A small mood board: three palettes, two type pairings, a couple of motif sketches. You pick one direction.

Weeks 3–4 — Drawing. Watercolor wash, hand-lettered names, monogram. We send a low-res preview and refine.

Week 5 — Print prep. Foil placement, paper selection, bleed lines. We coordinate directly with your printer.

Week 6 — Delivery. A printed sample arrives at your door, the digital save-the-date goes out, and the suite is ready.
